CSI uses single and team mediation approaches which allow us to bring complementary forms and experience into each mediation. CSI mediators have had experience and training in the following practice areas: Divorce, Custody, Child Support, Division of Marital Property, Business, Estates, Family Group Decision Making Conferences, Workplace Mediation, Personal Injury, School and Community conflicts, Victim Offender Mediation, and Peace Circles.

CSI mediators are required to complete annual continuing education hours through accredited training programs, in order to remain on the Minnesota State Court Rule 114 Roster of Neutrals.

In addition to fee for service, CSI receives funding from a variety of sources. These have included contributions from: Blandin Foundation, Northland Foundation, United Way of 1000 Lakes, Crime Victim Services of Minnesota and the Streufert Peace and Safety Fund. CSI contracts with Itasca, Hubbard, Cass and Beltrami counties and the Leech Lake and Red Lake Tribal Councils to provide Family Group Decision Making Conferences.

CSI receives court referrals from Itasca, and St. Louis counties in Minnesota. Other referral sources come from attorneys, therapists, human service agencies, former clients, yellow pages, newspaper articles and other publications.
